DeLaval is looking for an HR Generalist to join our team in Gent, Drongen.

In this position you have an important role in setting out and implementing the HR policies and processes. You will have the opportunity to work independently within the different HR areas, and to develop yourself.

Purpose of the role and key responsibilities
You are the HR point of contact for the Plant Manager, her team and all employees employed in the factory.
They can rely on your knowledge of social legislation and internal policies. They can contact you with all their questions and can rely on your expertise.

In this position you are also responsible for the following processes:
  • The preparation and execution of the payroll of around 70 employees (white collar and blue collars working in shifts) in consultation with the payroll office
  • The recruitment, selection and reception of both, temporary and permanent employees
  • The entire personnel administration
  • Monitoring the company car fleet in line with company car policy
  • Supporting in training and development of employees

In addition, you support the HR Manager in ad hoc projects such as social elections, organizing team building activities, taking care of internal- and external communication and facility management.

Qualifications and experience
To be successful in this role we are looking for someone with:
  • Minimum 3 years of work experience in an HR function within a production environment is a must
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as personnel work, HR management or demonstrable experience in a similar position
  • A good knowledge of social legislation (preferable PC 116, 200 and 207)
  • Extensive payroll knowledge
  • Strong administrative skills that work accurately and organized
  • A strong sense of responsibility and discretion, a listening ear but also able to be firm when needed
  • A good knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint
  • A very good spoken and written knowledge of the Dutch and English is required
