To perform in this job, you need to have:
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Thorough knowledge of local store language(s)
- Technical background (preferably electricity or HVAC or building)
- Computer literacy
- Analytical abilities
- High attention to detail
- Flexible in work hours (late hours)
- Effective communication to steer and develop your team and to connect with relevant stakeholders
Your responsibilities
You ensure that the store is a durable, safe, clean and functional environment for co-workers, visitors and customers. You ensure that the store is well maintained and always looks spic and span. Concrete actions:
- Plan all internal and external control, maintenance and repair activities in order to secure maximum availability of technical installations, to prolong their life cycle and to avoid unnecessary repair costs;
- Carry out all necessary safety and security checks together with the safety and security advisor, in order to secure a safe and secure environment for all coworkers and customers;
- Participate in negotiations for new / updated maintenance contracts in order to maximize value for money;
- Monitor on a continuous basis energy-consumption in order to reduce/ minimize cost;
- Understand the IKEA concept and live the IKEA values, you ‘walk the talk’.
- Ensure a motivating and trustful atmosphere in the team, where issues are addressed in an open and honest way, and where co-workers can take responsibilities
- Create and maintain a good communication and information flow within your area of responsibility
- Recruit co-workers and secure their integration
- Develop coworkers’ attitude towards social and environmental issues
- Respect the budget frame within the department, securing follow-up and corrective actions towards expected results on eg turnover, efficiency, operational costs and other KPI´s.
